Laker has created a new Apprenticeship opportunity within the Responsive Repairs and Void contract we deliver for Friendship Care & Housing. As part of our commitment to social value the position was created to provide the opportunity for a locally based young person to become part of our busy call center and administration team, Laker co-locates these services within the main Friendship Care & Housing team at Newhall Hill in Birmingham and this was a wonderful opportunity for the successful partnership to create a new apprenticeship position.
Following a tough recruitment process, Chloe Gould from Birmingham was the successful candidate. Chloe started with Laker on Monday 1st August and will be undertaking an Apprenticeship in Administration and Customer Service. Chloe was recruited via ‘Positive Outcomes’ a leading UK work based learning provider. The Apprenticeship will be provided as a new E-Portfolio with Maths and English as functional skills and with an NVQ as the core qualification. Chloe will now embark on a three year programme of training, work experience and study where she will be earning and learning at the same time. Chloe joins several other apprentices already employed with Laker, all on progression routes to their chosen careers.
Chloe commented “I’ve really enjoyed my first week, I’m glad I have been given this opportunity” James Lakey, Managing Director at Laker said:”We are committed to investing in our apprenticeship programme and supporting young people in our local communities into employment and supporting them as their careers develop. We recognise that the apprentices of today are the workforce of tomorrow and we are delighted to have them as part of the combined Laker and FCH family.”
All the team welcomes Chloe on board and we wish her a long and successful career.
